Music for piano duet by John Metcalf. The work is predominantly bright and rhythmic. Musically the piece is a set of variations, five in all and 'classical' in the sense that each one simply decoratesa basic chord structure which is unchanged throughout. It is played without a break and there are many musical devices incorporated - in particular rhythmic canons. This challenging piece can be performed by four hands on one piano or two hands on two pianos. It was first performed by Helen and Harvey Davies.
