Sheet music for SATB (a cappella) with piano for rehersal only. Composed by Andrew Cusworth to the words of the poet Dafydd John Pritchard, the title could be rendered as 'Vespers'. The song combines imagery from the natural world and the Catholic traditions to create a atmosphere of expectant stillness and introspection. Musically these qualities are echoed by the bell-like, pendulous motion of the chords and melody.The piece is thoughtful, with one momentary passionate outpouring and then turns inwards to the internalised prayer and the ritual represented in the englyn by the image of rosaries hidden in the trunks of oaks.
